Due to the recent global situation regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) we ask that if you or anyone you have been in recent contact with has developed any of the symptoms as described on the NHS website (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/) you inform us before attending an appointment. We will then reschedule your appointment to at least 2 weeks after your original date.

There are no further changes to our Terms and Conditions due to coronavirus.

Also, please rest assured that all of our staff always adhere to the highest standards of hygiene, both personally and in terms of the makeup and hairstyling tools they use. If you would like any further information on our exact hygiene procedures please let us know and we will be happy to provide them.

DEFINITIONS

The Client: The recipient of the service

The Company: Jo Adams 

The Agreement: The agreement between the Client and the Company, confirmed by e-mail, for provision of the service

The Fee: The amount payable by the Client to the Company for the service in the Agreement

The Event: The occasion for which the service has been agreed

The Party: Persons in addition to the Client requiring services at the Event

The Team: Members of Jo Adams Hair and Make Up Atelier Team

BOOKING – WEDDING DAY MAKEUP/HAIR

Services are secured upon receipt of a booking fee payment to the value of your design appointment for bookings within the UK. A further retainer payment of 50 % of the value of services to be rendered on the wedding day after a successful design appointment. Receipt of the retainer payment confirms the Agreement and secures the Company’s availability for the Event on the agreed date and time for the agreed Fee.

The retainer is deducted from the final Fee due.

The final fee is due to be settled two weeks prior to the booking date. 

Cancellations are only deemed valid if received via email.

The Fee is always agreed via email, verbal agreements are not offered as they are not deemed valid by the Company.

The Company reserves the right to cancel special offers and rates at any time, with the exception of where an emailed Agreement is already in place with the Client.

BOOKING – OTHER MAKEUP/HAIR/LESSONS

Bookings are secured upon email confirmation from The Company. This confirms the Agreement and secures the Company’s availability for the Event on the agreed date and time for the agreed Fee.

The full cost of a booking is incurred if a cancellation is received less than 24 hours before the Event.

Cancellations are only deemed valid if received via email.

The Fee is always agreed via email, verbal agreements are not offered as they are not deemed valid by the Company.

The Company reserves the right to cancel special offers and rates at any time, with the exception of where an emailed Agreement is already in place with the Client.

 

TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR BOOKINGS WITHIN THE MAINLAND UK

For Jo : travel expenses are incurred for services booked outside a 15-mile road distance from CM8. They are at a rate of 45p for every mile outside the 15 mile road distance from the Studio and are based on a return journey.

For other team members: travel expenses are incurred for services booked outside a 15-mile road distance from their home address. They are at a rate of 45p for every mile outside the 15-mile road distance from their home address and are based on a return journey. The particular cost for your artist will be calculated at the point of enquiry. 

Where travel expenses are incurred for travel by car to locations where the service is to be provided, please note that parking charges with be added to the your invoice. 

Distances are calculated using an online journey planner and travel expenses will be agreed between the Company and Client as part of the Agreement.

If required, alternative methods of transport other than motor vehicles, such as rail or flight will be discussed and agreed with the Client during the booking process.

 

TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR BOOKINGS OUTSIDE OF THE MAINLAND UK

Travel expenses are incurred for services booked outside of the mainland UK, they are as follows:

  • Travel expenses to and/or parking at a train station, airport or port where the Team member(s) will be travelling from. If the journey to the train station, airport or port is by car then 45p for every mile outside of a 15-mile road distance from CM8 is charged for Jo and all Team members home addresses. 

  • Return rail tickets, flights and/or boat tickets for all Team member(s) booked from/to convenient train stations, airports and/or ports. The Company will always endeavour to find the most cost-effective option; and

  • All additional travel required at the destination related to provision of services at the Event.

Road distances are calculated using an online journey planner and travel expenses will be agreed between the Company and Client as part of the Agreement.

A minimum booking fee will apply for Jo and for each team member for international bookings. This will be discussed and outlined at the point of enquiry. 

ACCOMMODATION & SUBSISTENCE EXPENSES FOR BOOKINGS WITHIN THE MAINLAND UK

For Jo and any member of the Atelier Team accommodation expenses are incurred for services provided within the mainland UK for bookings that are to start prior to 7am at a location over 50 miles road distance from the CM8 or the Team members home address. This will be discussed and agreed with the Client during the booking process.

ACCOMMODATION & SUBSISTENCE EXPENSES FOR BOOKINGS OUTSIDE OF THE MAINLAND UK

For bookings outside of the mainland UK accommodation expenses within the mainland UK will be charged for trains, flights or boats leaving the mainland UK. 

Additional accommodation expenses at the destination of the Event may also be incurred however all accommodation expenses will be discussed and agreed with the Client during the booking process.

£25 will be charged for subsistence per Atelier Team member for every 24 hours spent away from home for a booking.

The Company will always endeavour to find the most cost-effective option.

PAYMENT – HAIR/MAKEUP

An invoice for the balance of the Fee will be sent from the Company to the Client at least 3 weeks before the date of the Event, unless the Event is in less than 3 weeks’ time in which case it will be sent immediately after the booking has been secured.

Full payment of the balance of the Fee is required 2 weeks before the Event at the latest, if the Event is less than 1 week away full payment is required to secure the booking. There are no exceptions to this.

Payment can be accepted via bank transfer or PayPal.

Bookings are only confirmed once the funds have cleared in the Company’s bank account.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY

It is the Client’s responsibility to inform the Company or Team member who is engaged to provide the service of any potential issues such as but not limited to medical conditions, allergies, and/or sensitivities. Neither the Company nor Team member can be held liable for any condition that arises or loss incurred by the Client if the Client has not informed the Company and/or Team member of any known conditions as stated above, or of any conditions unknown to the Client at the time of the service. 

 

The Company and/or Team member reserve the right to cancel the Agreement if the behaviour of the Client is deemed inappropriate and/or if the Client reports a condition that the Company and/or Team member deem as a risk to the Client’s health and well-being. In these cases any payments that have already been made by the Client for the service are non-refundable.

COMPANY RESPONSIBILITY

The Company will always endeavour to honour the Agreement to the best of its ability.

 

There may be circumstances beyond the control of the Company where a Team member is unwell, delayed or otherwise unavailable, sometimes at short notice. In such a case the Company will inform the Client at its earliest convenience and endeavour to make favourable alternative arrangements if possible.

The Company reserves the right to offer the Client compensation in the event that it is not able to honour the Agreement. This is entirely dependent on the circumstances and will be discussed openly and honestly with the Client.

CANCELLATIONS

Unless specified differently on the webpage for the service:

- If a booking is cancelled for any reason except for an event of Force Majeure the amount payable to the Atelier under this agreement shall be determined as follows:

6 – 4 weeks prior to the engagement – 50% of the agreed fee.

3 – 2 weeks prior to the engagement – 75% of the agreed fee.

2 weeks - On the day prior to the engagement –100% of the agreed fee.

All seven days of the week count for the notice period.

For the purpose of calculating the number of days notice given, the day on which notice is given is included but the event day is not. 

If the period of engagement is three days or less, the cancellation fee applies to the whole engagement. If the period of engagement is more than three days, then each day is a separate engagement and the cancellation fee is calculated for each day.

 

- payments made to the Company for a service that is subsequently cancelled by the Company will be refunded in full within 7 days of the cancellation;

cancellations by the Client for a non-wedding service where a payment has been made, that are received less than 3 weeks before the start of the service are non-refundable. Cancellations received before this time will be refunded in full within 7 days of the cancellation.

Cancellations for services booked where travel and/or accommodation expenses have been paid for by the Company and are non-refundable by the travel/accommodation provider(s) will incur full reimbursement from the Client to the Company for the travel and/or accommodation costs paid.

PHOTOGRAPHY & USE OF IMAGES

Photographic/video images of the Client, Party and/or Event will not be used by the Company in promotional material unless the Client’s express permission has been granted.

CHANGES TO SERVICES AND PRICES

Prices for products and services are subject to change without notice.

The Company reserves the right to modify or discontinue a service (or any part or content thereof) at any time without notice.

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT DETAILS

Maximum time allocation for Design Appointments: the maximum time that the Team can spend on any one trial is 2.5 hours for a makeup or hair booking or 4.5 hours for a makeup and hair booking. Any additional time required for trial sessions will have to be booked as a repeat trial.

Repeat trials: If a second makeup and/or hair trial are requested the same fee applies as for the first trial.

Additional members of the Atelier Team at Jo’s bookings: Team members will only be present if there is a time constraint and it is not possible for her to provide the hair and makeup for the Party within the agreed time.

Additional Artist Fees: Examples of where additional artist fees will be applied are : If the start time for a booking is amended to be later than in the initial Agreement, however the finish time is to remain the same; or if a booking is requested for one Atelier Team member but is deemed by the Company not to be possible for one person due to time constraints; or a venue has a set access time that would limit the artists capabilities, the Party wish to have a later start for hair and make up; the ceremony time is before 11.30am. 

Individual lashes: individual lash application is included in the price for the makeup service, there is no reduction in price for any makeup service if they are declined.

Makeup and Hairstyling  services for younger members of the Party: makeup services for members of the Party who are up to 12 years old are discounted to Junior Bridesmaid prices. This will only include lip gloss, blusher, and shimmery eyeshadow application.

If a more complete hair or makeup service is required the full bridesmaid’s price will apply.

Hairstyling services for members of the Party who are up to 12 years old are charged at Junior Bridesmaids prices. Examples of this will only include plaits or loose waves with a plait – up to 15 minutes of hairstyling per Party member.
